st1: Block limits 1 - 16777215 bytes

my /var/log/messages is flooded with this message:

[root@myhost ~]# tail /var/log/messages
Jun 15 18:01:51 myhost kernel: st1: Block limits 1 - 16777215 bytes.

any idea?

No answer, just a few common threads. It is a common message and comes up a lot.

Seems to happen a lot when there is a scsi timeout when no tape is in the tape drive.

Could be a sign of a bad disk as well.
