Successful password change time
I have an issue whereby each time a particular account expires after 30 days the user is unable to reset their password. When we run getprpw on the account the spwchg field value is 01 Jan 1970. Once we run modprpw -v on the account everything works fine and the user can reset the password again. Any ideas on what could cause this??
Many thanks and regards,
Ed

Re: Successful password change time
Are you talking about the password expires or the whole account expires?

Re: Successful password change time
I believe it is the password that expires but I will need to check with the user if they get the option to reset it themselves which doesn't work or if they just can't login. Sorry I thought I had all relevant info but I will check with them.
Thanks for looking at my thread! :-)

maybe it is a coincidence, but other unices' also use it as "epoch date". or they just wanted to regulate themself to HP.... :)

Ed,
is this happening only with a specific account, or with every account on the system?
Unix operates with beer.

Re: Successful password change time
Yes, it is a Posix/Unix, ANSI C standard.
