Ubuntu 14.04.02 on ML310e Install
I just got in a ML310e v2 Gen 8 (Hot-Swap), I am trying to install Ubuntu on it, I have (2) 3TB drived installed in bays 1 and 2. I have in RSBU the b120i RAID enabled, I have configured a array and logical drive, on RAID 1, with no cache. During the install the partition manager still recognizes both drived individually and does not install properly, what am I doing wrong?
I have a LSI 9260 PCIe RAID card with BBU, that if i install an connect it to the HDDs the install runs just fine with no issues. I would leave this card in place except for that fact that with the card in place the POST takes forever. Literally about 8 -10 min just to get through POST. What I mean by POST is from the time the HP logo with the blue progress line shows up. With this card out POST only takes a min or two.

Re: Ubuntu 14.04.02 on ML310e Install
You need the 'hpvsa' driver which doesn't ship with any distribution
Canonical Launchpad

Re: Ubuntu 14.04.02 on ML310e Install
After further investigation, the hpvsa driver was put on Launchpad for the initial release of 14.04 only.
