Hi ,
One of our new Storage XtremIO had a test lun on it , and suddenly on 11iv3 it showed
bdf:I/O error /test
What could be the reason ?
Storage team saying they didnt do anything , HP team saying they had unpresented a lun which throwed following message in syslog ;
Aug 5 16:12:20 dcrrbap3 vmunix: LVM: VG 64 0x0f0000: PVLink 1 0x0000f1 Wrong Disk!: PVID or VGID on the disk does not match with that in the kernel.
Aug 5 16:12:20 dcrrbap3 vmunix: LVM: VG 64 0x0f0000: Lost quorum.
Aug 5 16:12:20 dcrrbap3 vmunix: This may block configuration changes and I/Os. In order to reestablish quorum at least 1 of the following PVs (represented by current link) must become available:
Aug 5 16:12:20 dcrrbap3 vmunix: <1 0x0000f1>
Aug 5 16:12:20 dcrrbap3 vmunix: vxfs: WARNING: msgcnt 11 mesg 039: V-2-39: vx_writesuper - /dev/vg_Xtremio_Test2/lvol1 file system super-block write error
Aug 5 16:12:20 dcrrbap3 vmunix: vxfs: WARNING: msgcnt 12 mesg 031: V-2-31: vx_disable - /dev/vg_Xtremio_Test2/lvol1 file system disabled
Who's right ?
We are confused !!!

Solution>> Wrong Disk!: PVID or VGID on the disk does not match with that in the kernel.
Nothing you can do in HP-UX. The data coming from that PV is not from the correct LUN, or something has scrambled the data on the disk, specifically the LVM headers. If the disk LUN was unpresented, then the message would state that the LUN has disappeared or become unavailable. These messages seem to indicate that the PV is now pointing to something else, or some error in array management has caused data to overwrite this LUN, or some error in HP-UX (a root user stored a file on top of the raw disk device).

Re: Un-present lun from Storage XtremIO
Hi ,
When the filesystem was mounted we ran vdbench on it , could thata be the reason ?
We made 80% read & 20% writes on the lun when it was mounted , but it was 2 hrs earlier not at that moment .
