UNCLAIMED device (PCI Display and SerialBus)

Hi all,
I have just installed a PCI 2D graphic and 2 port USB adapter on a rp2470 machine with HP-UX 11.11.
When run ioscan I got the following output:
unknown -1 0/2/0/0 UNCLAIMED UNKNOWN PCI Display (10
3c108b)
unknown -1 0/6/2/0 UNCLAIMED UNKNOWN PCI SerialBus (
1045c861)
In my understanding this should mean that I need the drivers.
Someone could help me to understand where I can find the drivers? How can I install them?
I have the HP-UX 11.11's CDs can I use them?

Thank you very much for any help...

Re: UNCLAIMED device (PCI Display and SerialBus)

Hi,

you can look for drivers on Applicatin CD
(look for names corresponding to P/N)

Re: UNCLAIMED device (PCI Display and SerialBus)

You are correct. You need drivers.

If this product is hp certified hardware, there should be drivers on the Core OS cd for it. It not, you may need to get HP-UX drivers from the card manufacturer.

AGain, if this device is supported, you may find drivers for it in one of the following locations:

http://software.hp.com

Patch database:

You may be interrested in this thread on hardware installation :

and this one :
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=62779
seems to say you need graph3 driver loaded.

Re: UNCLAIMED device (PCI Display and SerialBus)

Hi,

The graphics card is only supported in PCI slot 1 (above console and lan port),
the half-length, independent PCI slot;
the USB card is supported in any slot

After that install by SAM drivers for
1. graph3, usbd, hcd, hid, hub

SAM->Kernel Configuration->Drivers
Select drivers by space -> Menu Actions-> Add to Kernel
and then Process New Kernel (this will reboot your server)

Re: UNCLAIMED device (PCI Display and SerialBus)

Most HP graphics cards are already built in. After putting the driver status in the kernel to IN you need to use action, process new kernel.

A boot will be required.

Such drivers should be on the Core OS CD if not installed. I've sometimes seen them distributed in the patch database.

Re: UNCLAIMED device (PCI Display and SerialBus)

I all,

finally I have linked the driver into the kernel and when I run the ioscan I get:
graphics 0 0/2/0/0 graph3 CLAIMED INTERFACE PCI Display (103c108b)

but the monitor seems not working:
it is black.
Any idea???
