Upgrade RHEL AS 3 to RHEL AS 4 on BL20P G3
Hi,
We have a server BL20P G3 with RHEL AS 3 Update 3 and it need to be upgraded to the RHEL AS 4 without a fresh installation of the RHEL AS 4.
How can I do that?
Also please advise how to break the h/w raid mirrors so that the OS can be upgraded in one disk and then mirrors can be resynched if everything is fine.

Re: Upgrade RHEL AS 3 to RHEL AS 4 on BL20P G3
Take a backup 1st.
You shouldn't need to break any mirrors at all if you are just doing an upgrade. Insert the AS4 media into the CD drive, and select "upgrade" at the prompt that requests type of install you want to do.
WARNING: Some of your applications might not like getting their kernel changed.

Re: Upgrade RHEL AS 3 to RHEL AS 4 on BL20P G3
Thanks Alan!! I am planing to do the same.
Could you advice how I can break the mirror (1+0) of the h/w raid that is there in the server and reboot the server with one disk and perform this upgrade so that if the upgrade fails, we can revert back to the other disk with the old status.
