Re: VGSCAN,VGCFGRESTORE,VGBACKUP,VGEXPORT & VGIMPORT

Hi

vgscan ->scan physical volumes for LVM volume groups and recreates /etc/lvmtab
vgcfgrestore -> restores the Volume group configuration backup from /etc/lvmconf/vgname.conf to the disk lvm headers
vgcfgbackup -> create or update LVM volume group configuration backup file (/etc/lvmconf/vgname.conf)
vgexport -> export an LVM volume group and its associated logical volumes to the map file.

Note: vgexport when run without -p option would remove the vg info from /etc/lvmtab

vgimport -> import an LVM volume group onto the system from the map file

Regards,
Pradeep

Have you looked at the man pages for each of those commands?
