Re: Virtual Disk on HP-UX

Hi,
do you mean the vDisk, which is used in Integrity Virtual machines?

The vDisk is simply a disk which is presented from VM Host to the VM Guest.

And your question is how to map vDisk in the VM guest to the "real" disk on the VM Host?

On newer releases of Integrity VM, there's a 'hpvmdevinfo' on the vm guest. If this command is not available (older versions), you can compare the 'hpvmstatus -P -d' output on the vm host with the 'ioscan' run on the vm guest.

Re: Virtual Disk on HP-UX

Hi,

With the latest HPVM releases you may use

# /opt/hpvm/bin/hpvmdevinfo

from the man page

The hpvmdevinfo command displays the available information about the
storage devices assigned to a virtual machine. When run on the VM
Host, hpvmdevinfo displays information about selected guests or all
guests and their assigned storage. This information always includes
the guest name and the VM Host resource information. When available,
it includes the guest device name corresponding to the assigned
resource.

Hope it helps,

Albertino
