Protect your on-site employees’ health with HPE’s Workplace Alerts and Information Sharing solution

This return-to-work solution leverages the power of the intelligent workplace to help your business resume or step up operations while rigorously guarding the safety of your on-premises workforce.

The modern digital workplace is much more than an office. It’s factory floors, lab facilities, hospitals, workshops, warehouses, and a host of other physical locations. And, it’s remote environments. The pandemic has forced many companies to quickly add or expand remote capabilities. Moving forward, many businesses are looking to build a truly integrated, hybrid workplace that spans both physical and remote environments.

On the physical side of the picture, the need for digital solutions is becoming more and more pressing as companies consider stepping up operations at locations that have been minimally staffed during the pandemic. In June, HPE Pointnext Services released 5 new return-to-work solutions to enable companies to reopen safely and bring employees back on-site while rigorously protecting their health and safety. I covered four of them in previous blogs: Social distancing/tracking and touchless entry here; and fever detection and augmented reality/virtual remote guidance here. Tapping into the power of the intelligent workplace

Our Workplace Alerts and Information Sharing services help keep employees safe by pushing out alerts, updates and relevant information quickly and effectively – a crucial capability in keeping people healthy and safe. And this is where intelligent workplace solutions really shine. These are platforms designed to support employees’ productivity by smoothing and enhancing their physical interaction experience. For example, they include wayfinding systems that can guide users to a particular spot in a building, and automated room booking or automatic visitor on-boarding. Our return-to-work solution is a natural extension of our smart workplace capabilities.

The use cases will depend on your company’s specific needs, but here are some examples of what this solution enables you to do:

  • Share workplace information and push alerts to employees in a specific building location using apps and dashboards. Let’s say the cafeteria is close to reaching maximum capacity under your social distancing guidelines. You can let employees know about it: “The cafeteria is at maximum capacity: Please consider delaying use of the facility."
  • Steer employees away from congested areas. If a corridor or workspace is becoming overcrowded, you can let employees know and give them directions to a safer location.
  • Alert employees that a particular work area is now ready for use because it has been thoroughly sanitized. ‘Hot-desking’ technologies can even enable an individual employee to locate and reserve a desk in a freshly cleaned area.   
  • Provide daily updates on eating times in the cafeteria to maintain social distancing, or rotation schedule for breaks.
  • Integrate with other systems to provide a central hub of information combining country-related health and safety information.
