There is no obersvation on the server.

From few days it using 100% CPU utilization.

svhtpdaemon proccess has been using total cpu resources and unable to find the related service/program and kill the process also.

While trying reboot, it hangs at kernel boot process.

This isn't a known HP-UX program and even Mr. Google can't find it.

The problem with rebooting may not be related to this daemon.

You'll need to post what you see during bootup for additional help.

Most early boot problems are usually related to disk issues.

Once you get it up again, track down where this daemon is stored or where it is scheduled (ie, inittab or rc scripts).

Then contact the company or writer of that code to see what is wrong with it.

This is a system daemon that manages metadata related to translations.  It cannot be killed.

Needless to say, if you have a situation where the daemon is running amok not relinquishing CPU you have hit upon a kernel defect.

It's been 3-4 years since this code was submitted and I have'nt come across a customer case with these symptoms.

If your system is patched with older patch levels, I'd recommend that you move to the latest versions of the vm/vm page table management patches, i.e. PHKL_43896 and PHKL_44278.

If you still see the issue after installation of these patches please TOC the box and contact your ERT rep.
