vPar Memory allocation best practice for Oracle database
Hi all,
Could you recommend me how to allocate memory to vPar instance which Oracle database is installed.
I'm confusing about base and floating memory. What is the appropriate amount for Oracle Database?
Thanks in advance,

Re: vPar Memory allocation best practice for Oracle database
Base and float are only meaningful if you plan on changing the amount of RAM allocated to different vPars.
The Oracle answer is: as much as the DBA requested. A large database with a huge SGA might need 100 GB but the DBA has to define the requirement using best practices for setting up this particular database.
