Exchange 5.5 -> Exchange 2003
Dears,
Hallo.................
Current setup:
1 PDC Server NT4 (Document Server)
1 Exchange 5.5 (Member Server)
Proposed setup:
1 Exchange 2003 (Member Server) (Migrate to new H/W)
1 PDC Server NT4 (Document Server)
Once the Windows 2003 box is up and running, there has to be a mail migration to the new box.
Is it possible For the Exchange 2003 (Member Server) to co-exist with Primary Domain Controller Server NT4 (Document Server)? And how to get this job don?
I'm pretty much stuck with this issue, and I need your help.
Thanks

Re: Exchange 5.5 -> Exchange 2003
Exchange 2003 as member server can coexist with NT4, however you need to upgrade your network to at least Windows 2000 level. Exchange 5.5 have its own directory service for mailboxes and public folder data, Exchange 2000 and 2003 uses Active Directory. Because domain upgrade begins at PDC, you have to upgrade it first, then install ADC (Active Directory Connector) which will publish your existing mailboxes and folders parameters to AD, then you can think about moving data into new Exchange. Look at chapter 4 of this publication: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/exchange/2003/library/depguide.mspx

Re: Exchange 5.5 -> Exchange 2003
It was my understanding that Exch2003 needed to be run on a 2003 domain
