NIC Team Redundancy decreased
I have a NIC team on a ProLiant 785-G5 consisting of four Gigabit NICs (2 each connected to separate HP J4819A ProCurve Switch 5308xl units). The server runs SQL2000 and is a busy little box.
On occasion the following event log message occurs. There are no corresponding error events in our switch logs. Does anyone know or have a theory as to why the team becomes degraded?
Log Name: System
Message Source: HP Ethernet

An Ethernet team's redundancy has decreased. A team member has changed to failed or degraded state.

Re: NIC Team Redundancy decreased
Andrew:
What software version are you running on your 5308xl units?
Have you checked for newer NIC drivers?

Have you been able to determine which of the 4 NICs fails to see if it's consistently the same one?
Make a great day!
