plans to add another DC, maybe two

Currently we're running our only DC with DNS, Active Directory and our shared folders. We have our app server, sql server, and our web server outsourced at another location. Our plans are to move those to a location that we can manage, along with another DC with DNS; then in the future, an exchange server. (this will be over a VPN tunnel for now but a 100 meg dedicated connection in the future.) My question is do you guys have any suggestions as to confirm that replication is occurring and that it is successful as well as any other implications of running two DCs? If you guys know any technet articles about deploying another DC that would be great too!
Current servers: HP DL380 G4s
Furture servers: HP DL380 G5s

Are you talking about DC (Domain Controlers) or DC (Data Centers).

To monitor Active Directory Replication use replmon:
