Proliant 3000 migration to Win2003
During installation on a NT Proliant system, I deleted the old partition, re-created it, formatted it as NTFS, installed the OS. It attempted to reboot and after a minute or 2 with the MS Win 2003 server screen you always get a STOP with.... "A problem has been detected and Windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to your computer"..... "Technical Information: STOP: 0X0000007B"
Where do I go from here??
Thanks, Mike

Re: Proliant 3000 migration to Win2003
Mike:
There are no Microsoft KnowledgeBase 'hits' for the 0x0000007B problem with Windows Server 2003, but there are several for Windows 2000, which should get you going in the right direction.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;822051&Product=win2000
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;822052&Product=win2000
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;122926&Product=win2000
Before beginning, did you go here:
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locate/69_1112.html
and install the latest BIOS and firmwares? Once Windows is up and running, return there and install Proliant Support Pack 7.0 (unless you're using SmartStart 7.0 to do the install).
HTH
Make a great day.

Re: Proliant 3000 migration to Win2003
Mike:
One more thing; you may want to get the latest driver for your boot drive's storage controller from here:
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locate/69_1112.html#19
and use it to do an F6 install.
