Proliant DL380 series internal Fan issues
I support several dozen DL380 G2 thu DL380 G4. I have heard that if I do not have a redundant fan installed that if my primary internal fan fails my server will shutdown. Is this true?

Re: Proliant DL380 series internal Fan issues
Hi
A redundant fan is always good in the sense if 1 fan goes down still the other is working, the server may not go down instantly but the server itself will start generating a lot of heat which may in fact affect the server, a redundant fan is always good on a production environment. If you have compaq insight manager installed that should send messages to the insight manager console which you can use to track the hardware failures.
