XP8 to 3PAR migration
We are planning to migrate few linux servers from XP8 to 3PAR 20k using OIU. Any idea how to setup the env.
We have configuered 2.8 OIU,done the necessary zonings. but not able to add XP8 as source array.

Ynt: XP8 to 3PAR migration
OIU installation and zoning alone are not sufficient for this migration workflow. The source array must also be supported by OIU and must be added through the required management interface/provider.
For XP8, please first verify whether the following migration path is officially supported in the HPE interoperability/support matrix:
XP8 as source array → 3PAR StoreServ 20K as destination array → OIU 2.8 as migration tool
If XP8 is supported, it may need to be added as a Hitachi/HDS-type source rather than as a 3PAR/XP-specific source. In that case, the correct management layer, such as the supported XP/Hitachi management application or SMI-S provider, must be available and reachable from the OIU server. The correct array UID/serial number, credentials, and provider status should also be verified.
Please check the following points:
Confirm XP8 to 3PAR 20K migration support with OIU 2.8 via HPE SPOCK or HPE TAC.
Verify that the required XP/Hitachi management software or SMI-S provider is configured and licensed.
Ensure the XP8 array is properly discovered in that management layer.
Confirm that OIU can reach the management IP/provider ports.
Try adding the source as an HDS/Hitachi-type source with the correct UID/serial and credentials.
If XP8 is not listed as a supported source array for OIU 2.8, then OIU will not be able to add it as a source, even if zoning is completed correctly. In that case, a host-based migration approach should be considered for the Linux servers, such as presenting new 3PAR LUNs and migrating data using LVM, filesystem-level copy, database-native tools, or application-level migration depending on the workload.

Ynt: XP8 to 3PAR migration
>addsource -type XP -mgmtip taspmokccv103 -user 3paradm -password ##### -uid 33123
>ERROR: OIUERRSRC0057 Unable to find the array specified serial number OIURSLSRC0057 Enter valid array UID.
>addsource -type HDS -mgmtip taspmokccv103 -user 3paradm -password ##### -uid 33263
>ERROR: OIUERRSRC0057 Unable to find the array specified serial number OIURSLSRC0057 Enter valid array UID.
Array is getting discovered, but command says UID id wrong, Tried all possible combinations 33123,033123,00033123

Ynt: XP8 to 3PAR migration
Based on the error message, this does not look like a SAN zoning issue anymore. The OIU server can reach the management endpoint, but it cannot find a source array matching the UID/serial number provided in the command.
I would not recommend trying random zero-padding combinations. The -uid value must match the exact array identifier exposed to OIU by the XP management layer or SMI-S provider.
In my opinion, it would be more appropriate to open an HPE SPOCK review and an HPE TAC case regarding this issue.

Ynt: XP8 to 3PAR migration
Hello @duru19,
Yes I have opened a case with HPE but unfortunately they are also not able to find a solution for this. Tried using multiple credentials ,UIDs with 0 000 all combinations but no luck
