HPE in the news: Press coverage from HPE Discover!
Check out a sampling of what leading publications said about HPE Discover announcements.
HPEโs CEO, Antonio Neri, took the stage this week at HPE Discover 2022 to announce the latest news. This event was the first in-person HPE Discover since 2019, but thatโs not what made news. Instead, a commitment Neri made that same year is what many stories highlighted. At HPE Discover 2019, Neri announced plans to offer HPEโs entire portfolio as a service by 2022. And this year, he announced the fulfilment of that goal with the HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform.
During his keynote address, Neri detailed how HPE GreenLake adds eight new cloud services: backup and recovery, block storage, compute operations management, data fabric, disaster recovery, hyperconverged infrastructure, as well as industry-vertical cloud services for customer engagement and payments.
A sampling of articles and quotes from HPE Discover 2022:
- Forbes, Matt Kimball
HPE Armed and Ready for the Enterprise and Service Providersโฆ
โI am also bullish on HPE as an IT solutions provider that will power the next-generation datacenter. It is a company that seems to have a knack for knowing what's next and getting out in front of those trends. . . . . Just travel back to Discover of 2019 when Antonio Neri stood up and announced HPE GreenLake and the intent to deliver the entire HPE portfolio as-a-Service. It was the beginning of this consumption-based IT market as we know it and now everybody is doing it."

GreenLake: finally, a platform that HPE utterly controls
โHPE says it has over 70 services available through GreenLake, and they come in all shapes and sizes . . . The most interesting new service is the GreenLake for Data Fabric, which is the MapR file system that has been renamed under the Ezmeral brand and is now integrated as a single data store for structured and unstructured data underneath GreenLake, sitting alongside block and file services already launched.โ
- The Register, Tobias Mann
โExtending a public-cloud-like experience to on-prem datacenters has long been a promise of HPE's GreenLake anything-as-a-service (XaaS) platform. At HPE Discover this week, the company made good on that promise with the launch of GreenLake for Private Cloud.โ

HPE Discover: GreenLake grows new features and customer base
โThe company has spent the past three years working to reposition itself as an โedge-to-cloud companyโ, with its HPE GreenLake as-a-service offering forming the cornerstone of this strategy and used its Discover user and partner conference in Las Vegas to confirm the process is now complete. During Q2 alone, the company claims to have signed up 150 new customers for GreenLake, including car manufacturing giant BMW Group and global payment systems provider Worldline, with HPE confirming that more than 1,600 enterprise customers now use the platform. โฆ To ensure this momentum continues, the company is using its Discover conference to roll out a series of new features, services and branches to the GreenLake platform family, which are all set to become generally available in September 2022.โ

HPE GreenLake spreads its storage wings
โGreenLake for Data Fabric is a managed service that contains an analytic-ready data fabric and single data store for hybrid environments. It is powered by HPEโs Ezmeral Data Fabric, which unifies files, objects, NoSQL databases, and real-time and batch streams across distributed locations. By unifying and preparing data for processing, data integrity increases because errors and duplicate files are removed. It provides a global namespace that connects distributed data across the enterprise.โ
