Curious about the evolution of HCI to HCI 2.0? The CTO Advisor, Keith Townsend explains

As you’ve probably heard by now, the new HCI experience is changing the IT landscape. Keith Townsend, The CTO Advisor, along with his trusted team, recently set out to discover – first-hand – how HPE Nimble Storage dHCI truly is HCI 2.0

CTI-Advisor_Keith-Townsend_HPE-Nimble_Storage_dHCI_blog_shutterstock_1228805080.pngBusinesses turned to hyperconverged systems because they greatly simplify application infrastructure.  And for over a decade, traditional HCI proved to be a smart choice for general purpose applications.  But now, businesses want to extend this experience for their more demanding apps and mixed workloads.

HPE makes that possible with HPE Nimble Storage dHCI. Our customers no longer have to choose between the hyper-simplicity of traditional HCI and the business-critical resiliency and independent scale of 3-tier architectures. Instead, they can leverage HPE Nimble Storage dHCI’s proven 99.9999% data availability and sub-millisecond latency for business-critical workloads to take advantage of flexible scale where it really matters.

Keith Townsend_1516336140750.jpgWe recently sent Keith Townsend, The CTO Advisor, an HPE Nimble Storage dHCI to test our claims that it’s hyperconverged infrastructure without the limitations. Together with Intel®, we’ve created a three-part video series that dives deep into the dHCI experience, and what that means for customers.

Each video is packed with interactive demos, footage from a datacenter, and industry expert interviews to bring you the truth – straight from expert Keith Townsend. This three-part video series walks through a real-world customer journey showcasing a typical experience for our customers.

Follow along with Keith as he explores the evolution of HCI to HCI 2.0.

The HPE Nimble Storage dHCI Challenge: Our own Chuck Wood, Product Marketing Manager for HPE Nimble Storage dCHI, joins Keith to break down our bold claim that disaggregated hyperconverged infrastructure is HCI 2.0.  Keith then describes the business value of HPE Nimble Storage dHCI, and how it enables his own business to make IT decisions faster – without overburdening his staff. He also answers the question: Does our “15-min rack-to-apps” claim withstand Keith’s testing?

HPE Nimble Storage dHCI Viability: This video is all about Day 2 into Day 3 management – and the importance of automation. Keith dives deep into his experience with HPE InfoSight, and how it uniquely provides a single interface to view and quickly troubleshoot a variety of VMware issues – including performance. Previously, he would have had to use five or more tools to accomplish the same task.

HPE Nimble Storage dHCI in Review: The last video builds on the previous two, with Keith stating that HPE InfoSight is the glue to our HCI 2.0 claim. He recaps his experience with running SAP ECC on HPE Nimble Storage dHCI, and relates how he can continue to use the products that he and his team know – with the automation (and intelligence) to accelerate their ability to deliver solutions – while keeping his operations consistent.
