New ways to propel your data-first modernization: HPE GreenLake breakthroughs unveiled

Today, HPE announced new cloud services and innovations for HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform to help businesses accelerate and expand their digital transformation. Here are some of the highlights.

Enterprise leaders find themselves faced with some pressing questions:

  • How do we ensure that digital transformation delivers real value – not just at some future point, but now?
  • How can we bring our multi-generational IT landscape, with its overwhelming data gravity and mass of entanglements, into the hybrid cloud era?
  • How do we extract value from the massive, rapidly increasing volumes of data?
  • How can we free up data for its best use, wherever it’s located – whether that’s in the cloud, in the data center, in colocations, or, increasingly, at edge deployments?

The answer to all of these questions is the same: The HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform gives you all the convenience and flexibility of the public cloud with the privacy, performance and control of your own environment. It brings point-and-click simplicity to all of your apps and data, wherever they reside – in the data center, in colocations, and at the edge. The HPE GreenLake platform provides self-service agility, with the ability to view costs, track usage and manage capacity all from one intuitive platform. It’s pay-per-use, so you can avoid heavy upfront investments and long procurement delays. It’s easy to scale up or down as needed. And it’s managed for you, so you can focus on the next moves for your business.

Today, we announced a slate of new offerings and innovations for the HPE GreenLake platform that will provide even more help for companies’ digital transformation programs. You can read about them in our press release: HPE GreenLake Edge-to-Cloud Platform Delivers Greater Choice and Simplicity with Unified Experience, New Cloud Services, and Expanded Partner Ecosystem. Here’s how HPE’s President and CEO Antonio Neri summarized it: “In the hybrid cloud market, HPE GreenLake is unique in its simplicity, unification, depth of cloud services, and partner network. Today, we are furthering our differentiation, boldly setting HPE GreenLake even further apart as the ideal platform for customers to drive data-first modernization.”

A few highlights of the announcement include:

Aruba Central now available on the HPE GreenLake platform for a unified view of your IT estate.

If you’re a user of Aruba networking products or you’ve investigated them at some point, chances are you’re familiar with this secure, cloud-native, single-pane-of-glass console for unified network management. We have now integrated it with the HPE GreenLake platform, so you can manage your networking assets from the same point of control as the rest of your hybrid IT estate. (Don’t miss this blog about the announcement from Aruba)

In addition, we’ve enhanced the user experience for the HPE GreenLake platform with a new, simplified view of your cloud services, edge to cloud. The new experience will be available in April 2022.

Bring the cloud experience to some of your most demanding workloads and infrastructure with new cloud services.

I can only highlight a few of these here; check out the press release for more info. We’re adding the following innovations to our ever-expanding collection of cloud services – you can see the full portfolio here: HPE GreenLake cloud services.

  • HPE GreenLake for Aruba Networking. We’re adding new Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) offerings to the portfolio of HPE GreenLake cloud services to give you easier ways to provision and deploy NaaS and align network spend to your business needs. Channel partners should take a close look at these new services, which present some exciting opportunities for extending HPE GreenLake cloud services to their customers in a resale or managed services model.
  • HPE GreenLake for Block Storage. This is the industry’s first block storage as a Service to deliver 100% data availability guaranteed built-in on a cloud operational model. Self-service provisioning enables line of business owners and database admins to build and deploy new apps, services, and projects quickly. Operational simplicity frees up your IT professionals to work on high-value projects. For more information, see this blog: Making your data work for you.
  • HPE Backup and Recovery Service. Designed for hybrid cloud, this service enables you to easily protect your data for virtual machines – including VMs on heterogeneous infrastructure – gain rapid recovery on-premises, and cost-effectively store long-term backups in the public cloud. In addition, we’ve enhanced our ransomware recovery solutions by adding immutable data copies – on premises or on Amazon Web Services.
  • HPE GreenLake for High Performance Computing. The transformational power of HPC just got a lot more accessible, and for a wider range of businesses. We’ve added new capabilities for highly demanding compute and data-intensive workloads, such as AI and ML projects, as well as smaller configurations so you can test workloads and scale as needed. We announced expanded GPU capabilities to accelerate compute; HPE Slingshot, a high-performance Ethernet fabric designed for HPC and AI; and HPE Parallel File System storage, which gives you massive throughput for your HPC and AI needs.
  • HPE GreenLake for Compute Ops Management. This cloud-native management console for servers is now open for a 90-day free trial and will be available for purchase in June 2022. See this blog for more details: Unified server management from edge to cloud drives greater performance and efficiency.
