Picture1.pngThe shared best practices of HPE focusing on preventing violence at home and in the workplace have been truly appreciated by the audience. I believe that the shared experience and knowledge will be a wake-up call for many employers and they will start investing in building awareness and action plans in their organizations as well.

Kamelia Moncheva, Manager, EMEA Delivery Readiness Team and Chair of the HPE Women at Work Bulgaria resource group, Hewlett Packard Enterprise.

The Global Delivery Center of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) in Bulgaria was invited to contribute to the conference “Countering Domestic Violence: from Home to Workplace” which took place on January 23rd. The event was organized by the Center for the Study of Democracy, the Institute of Public Administration, and the Demetra Association.

During the conference, crucial themes were covered such as the policy framework on preventing domestic violence in Bulgaria, the latest legislation changes implemented in 2023, the enforcement of the law, and the support of victims.

Joining Kamelia Moncheva from HPE were Manuela Popova, Director of BILITIS foundation and Colonel Nevyana Miteva, Ministry of Defense, who took part in a panel discussion on “Domestic violence and gender stereotypes at the workplace” which aimed to showcase the employers‘ best practices and strategies focused on supporting employees and their families.Bulgaria Article Header.png

Kamelia talked about the efforts that HPE Bulgaria invested in during the last couple of years. Thanks to our successful partnership with Emprove Foundation which started in 2021, we have implemented a structured framework containing:

  • Anonymous discussions and awareness sessions, open to all team members during which they receive valuable, practical advice about how to react if they become a victims or witness violence.
  • Training sessions for people leaders on how to recognize and react if they notice potential domestic violence occurring involving their team members.

So far the feedback from all employees who benefited from the program is extremely positive and colleagues highlight how valued the support which they receive from HPE is. We will continue to learn and develop programs, support structures, and improve the lives and well-being of our team members and the communities they are part of.
