EVA6400 with FATA
We have EVA6400 with all FC HDD. We need to install FATA disks, now we have 7 disks but as per the standard we shold have 8 FATA disks to create a raid group. Please suggest. We also have EVA4400 with FATA + FC disks. ..

Re: EVA6400 with FATA
Hello,
you can mix FC with Fata disk in EVA6400 - but you need at least 8 drives to create new disk group in EVA. And - you need drives compatible with your EVA.

Re: EVA6400 with FATA
You can find EVA6400 compatible disks in the following link.
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13206_div/13206_div.pdf
And yes you can mix two different types of disk in a DG but that is not a recommended setup. As mentioned by Jan Soska you need min 8 disks to create a DG or to initialize an EVA.

Re: EVA6400 with FATA
minimum: 8 disks (FC or FATA) or 6 SSD in 2 shelfs
maximum: 18 shelfs * 12 drives = 216 disks
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
