How to add arbitrary metadata with global-settings?
I'm trying to use the 'global-settings' API (200) to save some arbitrary metadata to a OneView instance.
From the API reference it seems Iike I should be to do a POST to create a new "category" - let's call it "CloudSystem" - then create key/value pairs under that category. No luck.
I can drive other parts of the REST API without any problems; am I missing something conceptual here?
Thanks, Steven Colby

Re: How to add arbitrary metadata with global-settings?
Hello @StevenColby, and welcome to the HPE OneView Community Forums.
We do not allow users to create new Global Setting objects on the appliance. We only support customers modifying existing values only when directed by HPE Support.
As an alternative, I would suggest you look at Labels to "add" your "meta-data". Also, you would benefit from being able to filter resources based on the Label as you navigate the UI.

Re: How to add arbitrary metadata with global-settings?
Hi Chris - Not what I need, but I may be able to use the 'lables' idea to get somewhere. Thanks for the idea! Steven
