HPE OneView vCenter admin account
Hi,
If i'm installing OneView (not oneview for vcenter plugin) on the esx host and create a virtual appliance in vcenter, do we need a vcenter admin account?

Re: HPE OneView vCenter admin account
Hello @verdy15, and welcome to the HPE OneView Community Forums.
I'm not completely sure I understand your question. But, when you deploy an HPE OneView appliance, you need to have rights in vCenter or the ESXi host to deploy a VM or OVF to. As for a specific user account in vCenter, we have no requirements. Also, the appliance does not currently communicate with vCenter or ESXi host.
I am an HPE employee

Re: HPE OneView vCenter admin account
Hi Chris,
Thanks for getting back and pardon me for not making myself clear enough.
My objective is to install the HPE OneView on the esxi host to manage and monitor storage, network and etc.
No OneView for vcenter plugin will be installed in this environment.
So my question is, will i still need a vcenter admin account even if i install it in the esxi host?

Re: HPE OneView vCenter admin account
Hi,
You have to import the OneView appliance into ESXi, but to use OneView it's not necessary to use any VMware ESXi or vCenter related accounts.
Kind Regards,
