Windows 2000 setup on LH4 fails harddisk detection

Hi,

iIm trying to install windows 2000 on an LH4 Server. But the setup claims about "harddisk not found".
The harddisks are connected to the onboard Raid and configured as RAID5.
A former installation of novell5 can still be booted from the disk ! So basically the raid is ok. However setup doesn't find the disk :-(

I have downloaded and upgraded to actual BIOS, controller FW and HotSwap FW. I'm using latest driver disks and use "HP NETRAID" (no 1M, 1Si or something) from disk1 invoking with F6 in w2k install...

Any idea ?

Hello,

Clear and recreate your array and then initialize it. Go to http://h20004.www2.hp.com/keeper_rnotes/bsdmatrix/matrix50450.html and download the drivers for 2000 to your hdd. Run the .exe to create your driver diskettes. Then boot to 2000 CD and press F6 to load Third Party drivers. Press S to skip detection and S to specify drivers and load the netraid driver. You should see your hdd's now.

Ciao,
Greg

Re: Windows 2000 setup on LH4 fails harddisk detection

I have been talking to phone support, and the only thing that did help, was clearing cmos via jumper on systemboard (via BIOS didn't help!)
Now everything seems to be fine !

Thank you anyway,

Martin
