Can anyone help me with how I can backup using DataProtector to a specific NIC?
i have two network cards and will want to dedicate one for production and one for backup....

Re: Backup to specific NIC
Make all your DP references to the hostname that corresponds to this NIC's IP address. This will apply to disk agents and media agents. I assume you will be putting in a dedicated subnet for backups.

Configure it on a separate network (for best results) and utilize this IP/hostname in DP.

Solution
Hi,
Configure two seperate IP's for both NICs. and make two different entries in hosts file with two seperate hostnames for different IPs.
Point DP to the hostname associated with the IP of the NIC you wish to use for backup.
