flex license manager

I am trying to install my Microfocus COBOL license. When I attempt to start the license manager I get:
Pid 2818 received a SIGSEGV for stack growth failure.
Possible causes: insufficient memory or swap space,
or stack size exceeded maxssiz.

However, I think I have more than enough. Any one have experience with this. Below is my swap info:

Re: flex license manager

Hi,

You can try increasing the value of maxssiz in the kernel settings. ( Reboot is required after changes made)

Look at this link for more info

Re: flex license manager

Hello Ted,

be careful, as (IIRC) the maximum for "maxssiz" is about 80MB on 32bit systems!

Re: flex license manager

Ted,

You probably didn't miss this bit, but I did when I was setting up the flexlm here, according to the documentation, the daemon has to be started by a normal user.

This didn't make much sense to me, but it worked.

(don't recall that I got errors like yours, nor is it evident what system you are running under, I'm on a "N"-class 9000 S-800 with HP-UX 11.0)

hth!

Re: flex license manager

I don't think you can solve this problem, by increasing kernel parameters.

Have you checked, the versions of your lmgrd and Microfocus license daemon? Maybe you need a newer version of lmgrd.
