HP-UX 11.22 (MacInley)

Hi all,

Just had my grubby mitts on a pair of zx6000 Itanium2 machines.....

Spent (too little) time playing with UX 11.22, and although I did notice a number of new features (and read some doccies) I would like to know if the forummers have found some neat stuff in 11.22. Like the new SAM kernel tuner -- a little slow? What with 128Bit encrypted data in a browser....

I would REALLY like someone to explain the new "striping" volumes that are in the ioscan -- /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s0 -- the s0, I would imagine, is a slice of sorts? I did a number of man's and really could not find anything....

Thx

11.22 is known as McKinley - you might get more on your search with the correct spelling ;)

Bill,

Had it right, just spelled badly on the forum!

Ta for that, tad dyslexic, think I need a holiday.....

Re: HP-UX 11.22 (MacInley)

Actually, 'McKinley' refers to the second-generation IA64/IPF processors supported in 11.22, not 11.22 itself.

I got you Doug!
Have to admit, I never knew it was out..

I've been looking around http://www.hp.com/go/hpux http://www.hp.com/go/itanium
and http://cpus.hp.com/ for more info, but really don't have all that much time free at the moment so didn't find a great deal..

anyway,
Good luck with the beta testing!

It works for me (tm)

Re: HP-UX 11.22 (MacInley)

Doug, gotcha ;)

Bill, thats what I found, I really did not get that much info off the web.

Anyway, thats not really the reason for the post, the guys that use it find the fun bits!!! Thats why I asked if anybody knows all the nice add ons..

Obviously not being used much yet -> first OS that I have recieved on DVD though, so much nicer having one, yes ONE App CD!!!!!!! None of this haviong to read the bleedin' CD_TABLE_OF_CONTENTS and unmounting the (invariably if Murphy is watching) incorrect CD!!

P.S -> Any way I can change the title of this post, it is embarrassing!!!
