We upgraded os from 11.00 to 11.11i.
We had installed and running hp apache 2.0.48 on a file system say /opt-rose/ before os upgrade.
After os upgrade we copied back hp apache files from other disk lying on other server to this server on the same file system as before.
Now when i tried to start apache it didn't come up. We are using ssl enabled apache.
The error says that "private key is not found". I checked and found that private key and certificate are at the same location as before.
Appreciate any clue.
Thanks,
Shiv

SolutionFirst mistake was using upgrade-ux if in fact you used this.
This is proabably a problem with the different versions of openssl between the two systems.
I have the following recommendations:
1) Copy your web content and configuation off the system.
2) If possible cold install HP-UX. If not continue to item 3
3) Install hpws from http://software.hp.com the version you were usins is still present.
4) Generate a new certificate or install the one you already had. Make sure openssl is the latest and greatest before you begin.
5) Copy your web content back in
6) Carefully duplicate customizations from your hold httpd.conf file to the new. I don't think its a good idea to just copy in the httpd.conf file.
Further error messages should be available from the log files, access_log error_log ssl_access_log ssl_error_log

Re: hpux os upgrade
Better upgrade your Apache with latest version from http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=HPUXWSSUITE
Also, check the permission of your certificate as well
