I just installed Shadow on an HP-UX 11.11 server. When I applied the pwconv command it prompts:
# pwconv
Updating the tcb to match /etc/passwd, if needed.
And there's no /etc/shadow... How can I fix this!!!

Solution
hp have two ways to create "shadow" files one is /etc/shadow (the tool jou properly installed) the other way is default avalable in 11.11 it is called tcb files.
If you want to create the /etc/shadow first make sure you do not use the /tcb files

Audited Events
Actions
Unconvert the System
After unconverting to normal /etc/passwd
a pwconv activates the /etc/shadow.
But unless you are using niss ore strange aplications I advice the tcb files because you have more passwd options....

hello, if you have
a trusted system you don't need /etc/shadow. Unconvert system if you want hav /etc/shadow
