HP 8200e and Windows XP

I have recently upgraded to Windows XP. The HP CD-writer worked perfectly under Windows 2000, but not under XP.

I have downloaded the updated drivers, but it still doesn't seem to work.

When I try to burn in Nero, I get the message 'SCSI Target Error', and with HP RecordNow it says that there is something wrong with the blank CD (that is not the case!)

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Search these forums and search Google Groups for 8220e and 8230e.

Unfortunately, you won't find any help and it's been my experience that HP's official support folks could only suggest things like installing the drivers.

I'm about to mail my drive to a nice HP address (along with a not-so-nice note).
