Until recently, all of the PC2-5300 Memory Kits we have ordered and received from HP had followed the following part number scheme:
397409-B21: Contains (2) 398705-051 512MB PC2-5300 FBD Proliant Memory (533MHz)
397411-B21: Contains (2) 398706-051 1GB PC2-5300 FBD Proliant Memory (533MHz)
397413-B21: Contains (2) 398707-051 2GB PC2-5300 FBD Proliant Memory (533MHz)
397415-B21: Contains (2) 398708-051 4GB PC2-5300 FBD Proliant Memory (533MHz)
Now these are the part numbers coming in:
397409-B21: Contains (2) 416470-001 512MB PC2-5300 FBD Proliant Memory (667MHz)
397411-B21: Contains (2) 416471-001 1GB PC2-5300 FBD Proliant Memory (667MHz)
397413-B21: Contains (2) 416472-001 2GB PC2-5300 FBD Proliant Memory (667MHz)
397415-B21: Contains (2) 416473-001 4GB PC2-5300 FBD Proliant Memory (667MHz)
1. When did HP make this change?
2. Are these parts able to co-exist in the same system at the same time?
3. Does anyone have any information on this change? Details, manuals, etc?
Thanks!

Re: PC2-5300 Memory Kit Part Numbers
Hi,
The part numbers ending with -051 are called Assembly part numbers.
The part numbers ending with -001 are called Spare part numbers.
The part numbers ending with -B21 are called Option part numbers.
You may refer to this link for help:

SolutionHi,
The HP PartSurfer shows as 667MHz for the spare and option part numbers.
http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?SearchText=416470-001
http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?SearchText=397411-B21
As far as I know, PC2-4200 = 533 MHz and PC2-5300 = 667 MHz
Lets see if any body has any other thoughts on this issue.
Thanks in Advance.
