USB Drive - 602 - Diskette Boot Record Error

When I plug in our SimpleTec 160gb USB drive upon boot up of our ML350 server we get the 602 - Diskette Boot Record Error and the system halts. If I remove the drive and reboot... boot up is fine.
We use that drive to hold our WSUS updates and would like to leave it on. If I have to reboot remotely I have to have someone go in and unplug the device while the system boots... a real pain. Thanks for any help!
