Hi,
I have a doubt about switch/transceiver compatibility. We have in plan to buy a couple of FlexFabric 5700-40XG-2QSFP+ switches. The X120 1G SFP LC LX (JD119B) transceiver is listed as a compatible accessory for the 5700 switch.
Since we already have a lot of X121 1G SFP LC LX (J4859C) transceivers which are older version of the same type of transceiver, I would like to ask if anyone can confirm that older X121 modules will work with 5700 switches? I wasn't able to find any official information considering this issue.
Thank You.

SolutionHi,
J4859C is not the older version of the same type of transceiver. It is the same type of transceiver but supported by ProVision switch family (2530, 2920, 38xx, 54xx, etc.).
So there is no official support of this type in Comware switches (58xx, 5700, 5500, 5130, etc). They will work but the switch will log messages that these are not supported.
BR,
Jan

Re: X121 transceiver compatibility with 5700 switch
Jan, thank you for the clarification. I guess we will buy new transceivers for 5700.
One more thing, I suppose that Comware switch 5700 with X120 compatible transceivers will work ok with X121 transceiver on the other end of the link in a ProVision switch (like 2510 or 2530). Can you please confirm this?
Thanks,
Filip

Re: X121 transceiver compatibility with 5700 switch
Yes, they will work as both are LX standard in your case.
