Hello,
I am new in HP.
I need form a IRF with two different models. That are HPE 5130 and HPE 5510. Is it possible?
My HPE 5510 has a firmware 7.1.045, Release 1122P02; and my HP 5130 has a firmware Version 7.1.045, Release 3113P05.
I don´t know if I cannot connect both devices in IRF by firmware or because it is impossible.
Thank you.

Hello Dramosc!
Welcome!
To answer your question... not possible. IRF can be formed between like switch families. You can do a stack of 5130's or a stack of 5510's, but not mixed. Sorry.
What feature of IRF are you looking for other than managing a stack of switches as a large switch?

David
Oh, and they also need to run the exact same code version.

David
Worth to add that Heterogeneous IRF feature (setting up IRF mixing up Switches belonging to different Switch Series as IRF members) works, as example, only on 5820X with 5800 and on 5920 with 5900...clearly with some specific restrictions due to different switch specifications (5820X != 5800 and 5920 !=5900).
Hello VoIP-Buddy,
Thank you for your reply. Then, I will form two IRF, one for 5510 and another one for 5130.
Regards.
Perfect Dramosc! That is what I would do!

David
Hi Parnassus!
Yes. But they are in the same family and works as you discovered. There are only a handful of devices that can do that.

Hi David,
is it possible to connect a 5130 24G 4SFP+ EI with a 5130 48G 4SFP+?
Thanks
