Moving SCSI HDD to external storage box

Hi

I am moving a SCSI HDD to external storage box..how i can i do this(H/W path change) without disturbing the data..also i want to move vg00 to diff. H/W path.

Moving a non VG00 VG is easy. Simply vgexport the VG, then reboot, move your SCSI HDD to its new location, then when your server reboots note the new /dev/dsk/cxxxx entries, then vgimport your VG using the new /dev/dsk/cxxxx entried.

Moving a non VG00 isnt so easy. Boot into LVM maintenance mode (hpux -lm), then export vg00, create your new /dev/vg00 and /dev/vg00/group files, then import vg00 using your new /dev/dsk/cxxxxx entrie(s). Then reboot and your done.
