dear all,
i need to use a va7400 in a Linux enviroment. i plan to connect to va7400 to the Linux server's HBA, and modify the va7400 os to Linux. what else do i need to do? do i need to install extra software on the Linux platform?

Hello Stephen,
be aware of multipathing. Depending on you used linux distribution you can use Qlogic Multipathing HBA driver, Autopath for Linux or DM-Devicemapper to wipe out multiple paths.

do you mean that except that multipath step, all other steps were ok for me to connecting that va7400 to that Linux os?

Hello,
yes, I think that's all. :)
- Connect the server to the fabric
- modify zoning, so that VA and server can communicate
- Create a LUN
- Set host port behaviour to "linux"
- Present the LUN
- Do a rescan under Linux
- Configure multipathing if you need.
