Adding enclosures to a Primera A650

Hi

When adding enclosures to a Primera A650 (4 node) is it mandatory or highly recommended to rebalance the drives? We currently have the 4 node controller enclosure and 2 additional enclosures with 22 SSD drives in all enclosures.

We need to add more storage but only have the budget for 2 more enclosures with 4 drives in each. This will give us the additional space we need so don't want\need to buy additional drives. Would there be any concerns in adding two shelves with just 4 drives in each?

Hello @CadenLange,

1. The system will automatically rebalance the drives when you add more enclosures/drives and admit them as additional capacity.

2. As you panned, you can add 2 more enclosure with 4 drives in each. It is well supported and no issues with it.
