autofs hangs when service guard switches

ServiceGuard (SG) systems running hpux 11.11 with SGeSAP version B.03.04
extensions installed and nfs SG package running. Clients using autofs to mount
nfs file systems.

The SG primary ran the nfs server package.
Both the SG systems ran as nfs clients.
When the nfs server package switched from the primary SG system to the
secondary SG system the nfs client on the primary SG system would hang for 10
(ten) minutes.


after 10 min it runs properly.

hi,

i did face this problem.

it is problem with mounting options of autofs. there is an option u can specify in auto.direct map what type of mounting u want whether udp or tcp.

i think bcoz this only ur clients get hanged.

use this option and try it.
"-o vers=3, proto=udp"

add this option in auto.direct

i did changed it before .HP engineer told the same.but i cannot test it now.i required down time for it.
