Ignite image recovery

To anyone that is able to assist with the question I thank you and appreciate your effort(s).
Brief Info:
HPUX 11.11
Running Ignite
Using an Ignite depot to save Ignite image for each server in the environment.

Questions:
Since I'm using an Ignite depot (I've inherited this and didn't setup or configure) is it possible to do an actual recovery from the Ignite depot image although it would then reside an a different server? I've done recoveries from an Ignite tape but not an Ignite image that resides on another server therefore my understanding is that the image would most likely have to be placed back on to the server that needs it but is that practical or not? Would I have to copy that image to an actual tape (DDS or so) in order to do a recovery (how would I without altering the image inoperable)?

you ignite images are created with make_net_recovery, over the network. To restore, you boot lan., go through a few prompts, then your image is available to restore.

You will also need to configure the DHCP on the Ignite server also so the recovering host gets an address.


Overall this is how Ignite services works. You can have all your servers executing a scheduled make_net_recovery and send the image to an ignite server. You can also use the ignite server to create clones for new servers.
