- Do you have online JFS on the system.
If yes, you dont need to unmount the filesystem.
Check:
# swlist -l product | grep -i OnlineJfs
Following steps needed to extend the FS by another 2GB (2048MB):
1. Check if you have free space & equal free space on both disk:
# vgdisplay -v vg00 | grep -e 'Free PE' -e dsk | grep -v Alt
From above output looks 4.4GB free space available , so you can go ahead:
2. # lvextend -L 6648 /dev/vg00/lvol7 #[4600+2048 = 6648MB the new size will be. ]
3. # fsadm -b 6648M /var
4. # bdf /var #To check.
