pfsd.rpc problem
I've done it 100 times before but it's not working now.
For some reason, after starting pfs_mountd and pfsd, the pfsd.rpc is not running.
Any ideas?

Re: pfsd.rpc problem
I've done a more extensive search on the forums and foudn that rpc.statd and rpc.lockd had to be running.
I staretd them and then restarted my pfs daemons and now pfsd.rpc isrunning but the pfs_mount /cdrom command is still hanging.
What now?

Re: pfsd.rpc problem
Have a look at this site
https://www.beepz.com/personal/merijn/
at the bottom it says
Do not use pfs_mount!. Install the Rock-Ridge extension patches instead and never worry about these problems
Install those patches and you'll never have to worry about pfs_mount

Re: pfsd.rpc problem
I have used the pfs mounting on this machine many times in the past and have never had a problem until today.

Re: pfsd.rpc problem
/sbin/init.d/Rpcd should be used.
I would also start nfs services.
Regarding rock ridge extensions, I'm actually working on a machine with a good level of patch, and still have problems. Not particularly with Oracle, but some mount commands results at filenames in caps and ".1" at end. PFS whith xlat=unix always work (if you don't have automount...).
