remsh - password expired

Hi folks,

When i try to execute a command on the remote server using remsh, i get the message "remshd: Password Expired". local server is a trusted system and remote server is non-trusted. both are running with HP-UX 11.00.

Could someone pls. tell me what's the problem ?

passwords can sill expire in non-trusted systems. This is what happened to you.
You password has expired on the non-trusted system

you will need to log in on targt server as that user to re-enable the password or give a new password to that user on target machine.

It happened to me but my case was reversed, target was trusted and local was non.
But anyway login to the target server by telnet and change password or give the same pasword again, bottom line is that you need to log in on the target server as that user to get rid of "password expired".
If you do not know the password , then log in as root and then change password or do "su - that-user" and change password.

The remsh or rcp should work fine if you going from a trusted to a non-trusted system. In your case the remote user you're remsh'ing to on the non-trusted machine probably has had an expired password.

Did you see any errors in the syslog.log of the remote server when you did remsh?.

Thanks guys u all were right.i hd just checked it. it works!

but i think i made a mistake.i assigned less points (i assigned points before i checked it) and i am unable to change it now.if you don't mind could you please just reply so that i can arrange more points to you which you deserve.
