I would like to know about Lock VG. How can I create physical volume link in both servers?

Hi Anoop,

You don't need to create physical volume on cluster lock disk.

Just select one shared VG, and specify the disk and vg name in the cluster ASCII file like below.

FIRST_CLUSTER_LOCK_VG /dev/vg01
FIRST_CLUSTER_LOCK_PV /dev/dsk/c10t0d2

When you apply the cluster configuration using cmapplyconf, cluster lock structure will be put in the disk automatically.

Only thing you should make sure is LOCK_VG should be on shared storage. so that both nodes can access the VG/disk.

once u created binary files for sg then u can put the name lock vg inside the binary file thats all

Hi Anoop --> You only have to run cluster commands from one node/server ( cmcheckconf, cmapplyconf ), to add to what GANESAN said

OVERVIEW
1--cmquerycl -> to create an ascii file
2--edit the ascii file changes to it ( lock disk, cluster name, cluster volume groups etc )
3--cmcheckconf -> check for configuration/syntax errors in PREVIEW
4--cmapplyconf -> if preview passes without issues then this command creates the cluster for you!!

Then you might want to create packages ( REMEMBER 11.18 has modular packages and is different from previous versions ) and thats it !!

Service Guard will work through a single LAN connection. cmquerycl will query your system and find and configure valid links for your system.

For more specific help, it would be necessary to know the OS version, the Service Guard version.
