1.When Install Oracle 10.2R2 on HP-UX11.23 Must install HP C/ANSI C developer's bundle before or not?

2.Howto activate license for HP C/ANSI C developer's bundle in HP-UX 11.23,i'm already have license key 60 days evaluation?

hi,

Installation of any required software should be done prior to the installation itself.

Once piece of advice would bt to consider running the RDA script (available from metalink) so as to verify that you environment is ready for the installation.

Also, if you have already have installed the C developer bundle then it is already activated for 60 days evaluation. Did you check the installation guide?

there is a pre-requisite check before Oracle actually installs. Run the installer and proceed till pre-requisite check. As fas as i remember, it is required. A pre-requisite check will also tell you the missing patches and about kernel parameters tuning(if required)

regarding your first question as to whether you need the HP C/ANSI C Developers bundle or not...

It depends!

There is a good Oracle Metalink article on this, doc id = 412450.1, but in case you don't have access to Metalink, I have attached it too.

It says "...The HP ANSI C and C++ (aCC) compilers are not required to run the Oracle database. They are required for compiling Pro*C, OCI, or OCCI client applications, or to generate natively compiled objects..."

So in otherwords, if you are not compiling any Pro*C, OCI or OCCI stuff and are only running the database, then you do not need anything extra.
