procurve 2650 network issues
Hi,
We have 12 hp procurve 2650 access switches with radius, mstp and dhcp snooping configured.
a few times a week some people complain that they lose network access ( interface is up but they can't ping anything ) and it fix itself after 1 - 5 minutes or by plugin again network cable.
I'm attaching switch log and config
Any idea what could be the cause ?
Thanks,
Dawid

Re: procurve 2650 network issues
1st of all, make sure power saving on NICs on clients is disabled.

Re: procurve 2650 network issues
Hi,
thank You for input. It's could be one the reason and i will look into it, but if that's the case why only some laptops are affected? I have the same laptop with the same settings as people with problems but i never had any issues myself ( and Yes, all laptops have power saving enabled).
Regards,
Dawid

Re: procurve 2650 network issues
There are some buggy NIC drivers around, that don't handle hibernate properly. Last time I saw something similar, upgrading to the manufacturer drivers from the ones Windows bundled fixed the problem. Alternatively, adding a cheap switch between the Procurve and the laptop will give you a pointer on where the problem lies.
