Encryption Performance - Smart Array

Hi,  I am looking at adding a The sncryption license to a HPE Smart Array P408i-p SR Gen10 Controller so some local drives can be encrypted.   Is there anything documented related to performance when enabled?   I want to know if there is a penalty, no penalty, etc..

HPE Smart Array Secure Encryption/Data at Rest Encryption/per Server Entitlement E-LTU - Q2F26AAE

Thank you

Re: Encryption Performance - Smart Array

Hi @DougFiore

I would say there is no penalty. There is nothing mentioned in https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=a00018950en_us

For the performance I see only the supported upgrade features:https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-a00026319en_us&docLocale=en_US#N105A2

If there was any performance impact, it would have been documented.

Re: Encryption Performance - Smart Array

There is a document for HPE Smart Array SR Secure Encryption Installation and User Guide. Also the HPE Smart Array SR Gen10 User Guide.

Hope this helps.
