Hello Everyone, I need your help. I have a piece of equipment at our colo where I need to get to the console port.
In CISCO land, I can configure the CISCO Routers console port to be an outbound connector i.e act as a serial port and allow me to connect to the console of the remote equipment.
Does anyone know if this can be done in Comware i.e use the Comware's console port to connect to the console of another piece of equipment? The comware kit is a 5700 series switch.
Thanks in advance.
Christian

SolutionHi @Crizco-OK !
Nope, it's not possible with 5700 and with any Comware-based switch. Console port on these is only for incoming serial connections for local device management.
On some Comware-based router that would be possible, it is called Reverse Telnet/Console Server Configuration but not with Console/AUX port, but instead with special Serial adapter cards, but that's another story.
