Re: MSA1000 Storage Array
1) by ACL you mean you have configured selective storage presentation to allow the HBA on that server to access that LUN?
2) The MSA serves LUNs, not physical disks. If you have created a RAID of 7 disks, and one LUN out of it, the server will see one LUN, not 7 disks.

Re: MSA1000 Storage Array
Can the MSA see the HP-UX boxes? Is that what you mean with create ACL/set preferred path?
YOu need to set the selective storage presentation on the LUNs to allow the HP-UX machines to see the new LUNs (think that's what it's called anyway).
I am not very experienced with HP-UX so can't really tell you what you have to do in there to get it to refresh the list.

Re: MSA1000 Storage Array
The servers do not see the physical disks, only the LUNs. And if you enable SSP, you must specifically allow access to that server to that LUN.
Can you post what you see on ioscan?

Re: MSA1000 Storage Array
Your "show connections" indicates that the connections to the HP-UX box are offline...
What's the physical connection from the server to the MSA ?
Are you using the built in SAN switch(es) in the MSA1000 or an external SAN switch ?
As mentioned earlier in the thread, have those SAN switches been zoned to allow the server to see the MSA ?
Cheers,
Rob
