Changing file system types

I have a Rx7620 server running HP-UX 11iv2.

Can I change the file system type from vxfs to nfs without affecting data?

If yes, how can I do it?

Thanks

I think you meant "vxfs to hfs"

The answer is no. You have to save and reload your data.

If you meant nfs, it is even worse. The NFS is on a different server.

Re: Changing file system types

Hi,

Please clarify a bit more on what you want this to be changed to ?

NFS is the file system which is available on one system and in mounted on another system. For the system where it actually exists it can be anything but on remote system it becomes NFS.

Moreover you can not change file system type on the fly. You need to backup data, recreate the file system and restore the whole data.
